Homero Herrera-Chez


Homero Herrera-Chez was born in Santiago, Dominican Republic, he graduated with a Bachelors in Fine Arts and Illustration from Altos de Chavon.

Though primarily a painter, Herrera-Chez is also a jewelry designer, print maker and a sculptor.

He has taught art and fashion courses at the LAIE Escuela De Arte in Santiago, RD, as well as art courses at the Instituto Cultural Dominico-Americano in Santo Domingo, RD.

Herrera-Chez has participated in numerous solo and group exhibits, as well as biennials and art contests. He developed his jewelry line “Manos de Plata” (Silver Hands). He was the illustrator for a children didactic books and software project sponsored by USAID and Pontificia Universidad Católica Madre y Maestra (PUCMM.); and a facilitator for Centro León. Herrera-Chez currently resides in New York City and continues developing his artwork.
