Amable Sterling


Amable Sterling was born in La Romana, in 1943. He began his studies at the National School of Fine Arts in Santo Domingo, in 1963, where he graduated with outstanding grades.

In 1977, Sterling obtained a degree in architecture from Universidad Autónoma de Santo Domingo, after which he was the director of the art department "Liceo Escuela Nacional de Bellas Artes," for eight years.

Among his awards and distinctions include the first X Prize Painting Competition E. León Jimenes, as well as awards in the XVIII Bienal de Sao Paulo, and the the grand prize in the Latin American Identity Biennial in Miami.
